The highly anticipated game The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom was released on September 26th on the Nintendo Switch console. The game is set in Hyrule, where its inhabitants are being kidnapped by strange rifts that have appeared everywhere. Princess Zelda embarks on a great adventure to save her kingdom, armed only with her wisdom and the Tri Rod.
Some of the highlights of this installment include the ability to play as Princess Zelda for the first time in the series, as well as many other gameplay aspects such as:
- Echoes: Using the Tri Rod, Zelda can create Echoes – copies of objects in the environment around her. You can summon these copies to solve puzzles or combine them to creatively solve problems, such as creating water cubes to climb heights or making bridges out of old beds or throwing rocks at enemies and more. Zelda can also create copies of monsters to fight alongside her.
- Bind & Reverse Bond: If creating copies doesn’t serve the purpose, Tri has the ability to give Zelda a special power called Bind, which makes objects follow Zelda’s movement. Additionally, the Reverse Bond power makes Zelda follow the movement of objects. By using these abilities, players can find various unique ways to overcome obstacles and solve puzzles.
- Still World: In order to save those who have been kidnapped by the rifts, Zelda and Tri must enter the Still World – a land with strange and mysterious terrain. Each entry point leads to a different area with its own terrain. In some areas, you may find stages to complete with bosses waiting to be challenged.
- Automatons: Hyrule is home to unique characters, some of whom extend a helping hand – like Dampé, the engineer with magical hands who excels at creating automatons. These strange machines can assist Zelda by unleashing powerful effects.
- Additional Features: These include horseback riding, Waypoints for faster navigation across Hyrule, Adventure Log to track missions, Smoothies with different effects, and clothing and accessories that enhance some abilities and more.
