Report: Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag Remake to be Released Sooner than Expected

Recently, there have been many rumors about the development of a remake of Assassin’s Creed 4 Black Flag, and Ubisoft itself confirmed that they are working on reproducing old games from the series to reach a wider audience. Recently, new leaks have emerged about the iconic pirate game.

While many assume that the new release of Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag may be far off, a report by Tom Henderson from Insider Gaming claims that the game is actually closer to release than expected.

According to Henderson, the remake was initially set to be released in November 2025, but with the recent delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows to February of next year, the release windows for other upcoming titles in the series may also be affected.

Marc-Alexis Cote – Executive Producer of the Assassin’s Creed series – said in an internal email to employees that the delay of Shadows “will also impact the rest of the Assassin’s Creed roadmap.”

Henderson claims that the standalone multiplayer title Assassin’s Creed Invictus is also scheduled to be released in November 2025, although it is still unclear if these plans have also changed. Previous reports claimed that the next main title in the series after Shadows, codenamed Hexe, was targeting a release in 2026. However, if the release of Black Flag is delayed until 2026, the release date for Hexe may also be postponed.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is set to be released on February 14 next year on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
