Ubisoft Officially Responds to Acquisition Rumors

The commercial performance of Ubisoft this year has been disappointing, primarily due to the performance of both Star Wars Outlaws and Skull and Bones.

The French company is going through a difficult period that threatens its position and future. The company’s shares have noticeably declined in recent months, facing many challenges that raise doubts about its ability to compete. This has led to the emergence of many rumors, including discussions that Guillemot Brothers Ltd, the parent company of French developer Ubisoft, is in talks with advisors to explore ways to stabilize the company, including the possibility of making Ubisoft a private company and other acquisition rumors.

Ubisoft has officially commented on the rumors regarding a possible acquisition by another company. In a statement to Eurogamer, the company confirmed that it regularly analyzes all strategic options that serve the interests of shareholders and will announce any new information in due time.

The company emphasized that its management is currently focused on implementing its strategies based on two core pillars: open-world adventures and games-as-a-service experiences. This suggests that Ubisoft does not completely deny recent rumors of a possible acquisition by another company, including the possibility of Tencent acquiring the company entirely, as Tencent already holds a stake alongside the Guillemot family.

The question remains: Will Ubisoft be acquired in the coming months? And if so, who will be the acquiring company? We will wait for more developments on this matter.
