Several new Halo games are currently in development.

It has been known for some time now that 343 Industries is working on everything that is coming to the Halo franchise, and earlier this year, the studio mentioned that they have several projects in development. Now, in addition to officially rebranding themselves as Halo Studios, the developer has confirmed that they already have multiple projects in the works.

All future Halo games will be built on the Unreal Engine 5, and after spending the past two years working on an extensive technical demo known as Project Foundry, Halo Studios now reveals that they also have multiple full Halo games in development.

According to Halo Studios’ head Pierre Hintz, the company has “realigned” itself, and instead of focusing solely on one project supported by the switch to Unreal 5, they currently have multiple games in development simultaneously.

He said:

“Our focus was disproportionately on trying to prepare the necessary conditions for success with Halo Infinite.” “[But the shift to Unreal] allows us to focus on delivering new, high-quality experiences.”

Operations manager Elizabeth Van Wyck also explained that Halo Studios will put much greater emphasis on getting player feedback at very early stages of project development. She said:

“We aim to get player feedback early and on a wider scale of players.” “We started that with The Master Chief Collection, continued with Halo Infinite, and we want to do it on a larger scale with our upcoming projects. Ultimately, it’s not just about how we evaluate them, but how our players evaluate them?”

As for the multiple new Halo projects in development, it is anyone’s guess at this stage. Halo 7 (or whatever the next main title in the series will be) is expected to be one of them, while leaks have claimed that another re-release of Halo: Combat Evolved is also in development.
