Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, considered one of the best parts of the series, is set to return to us soon, according to a reliable source.
The source of this information is the journalist Tom Henderson, who published an exclusive news on his blog revealing that he obtained new documents that reveal more details about the game.
According to the source, good documents have been sent requesting not to be made public, but they indicate that the development of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake is progressing well and may be released sooner than expected.
While this is not the first time information about the remake’s existence has surfaced, expectations were that we might have to wait for several years before its release, due to Ubisoft planning to release multiple titles in the series, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which has now been postponed to next year.
Prior to the delay of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which was supposed to affect the release schedule of other different Assassin’s Creed games, the release of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake, internally codenamed Obsidian, was scheduled for approximately November 2025, around the same time as the Invictus project is set to be released.
Henderson also claimed to have obtained recorded footage of the new game, showcasing the game’s protagonist, Edward Kenway, steering a ship, while an updated version of the Anvil Engine was allegedly used in the game’s development.
The release date of Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake may be brought forward from the previously scheduled date to fill the gap left after the delay of Shadows and other undisclosed parts of the series.
Meanwhile, Ubisoft is currently experiencing instability due to the failure of several recent titles released by the company. This was followed by the postponement of Assassin’s Creed Shadows, which significantly impacted the company’s market value, dropping to a level not seen in 11 years.
We do not know to what extent this will affect the company’s future releases, but it is certain that all their games under development, including various titles from the Assassin’s Creed series, as well as Splinter Cell Remake and others, will be affected by these new circumstances the company is going through, and we may see several delays in the near future.
