In May of this year, Nintendo confirmed that it would officially reveal the long-awaited next generation platform sometime before April of 2025, but since then, the company has remained completely silent on the matter. Some reports had suggested that the Nintendo Switch 2 would be unveiled at some point in September, but after that did not happen, many have become skeptical as to whether Nintendo intends to announce the device at any time this year.
However, according to a prominent leaker, the 2024 announcement is still strongly on the table. According to PH Brazil, who has leaked many details related to the Switch 2 over the past few months, recently moved to the Famiboards forums and reaffirmed that it is still planned for the platform to be revealed at some point this year. “Nothing has changed since the last time I talked about this… a week ago? I still believe it will be announced this year, yes.”
As for the platform’s release date, according to previous reports, the successor to the Nintendo Switch will not be released before April, at the earliest, if not later. We also learned that the Switch 2 may include a second cooling fan and a 60-watt charger.
