Review of FIFA 23 | Gamers Field

No one can deny the evolution and realistic simulation that FIFA has reached in football, starting from the atmosphere, to the level of control you have over what happens on the field. Every year, small additions come to us that add to the depth of player control in the game. Additionally, we will now explore the most important features of this release of FIFA in the following lines.

However, this does not mean that there are no significant improvements in the graphics, gameplay, and realistic simulation of player movements in FIFA 23 for the new generation.

We start with the most famous features of FIFA 23 for the new generation, HyperMotion2 technology, which is the second update to the HyperMotion technology that was released with the previous version FIFA 22 but has been greatly enhanced in this release by recording full matches and supporting the game with over 6000 player body movements! This makes players move and play more responsively and realistically.

From the first moment, you will notice a difference in the players’ movements and more realistic simulation, especially for famous players, each according to their style and way of moving on the field, dribbling, shooting, and scoring goals. Even the goalkeepers have become smarter, with their movements and jumps more suited to the direction of the ball, and they attempt to save it with realistic movements that match the ball’s strength and direction. Goalkeepers now even stretch out their arms to block shots or change their direction, even with their fingertips.

Ultimate Team mode and the addition of FUT Moments Through this addition, you play predetermined scenarios focusing on the career of a player or a coach, allowing you to experience the most important moments of their career with a variety of challenges that must be completed to collect new currency in the form of stars, which can then be exchanged in the Moments Star gallery for cards like Ted Lasso and his team, and other gifts. Despite the great enjoyment of this addition, its rewards are unfortunately weak compared to other challenges offered by Ultimate Team.

There has also been a change in the player synergy system. Despite the criticisms that the synergy system received, it represents a significant change that enhances player combinations to be more diverse from different leagues, encouraging players to be innovative in their formations. The requirement to place players with synergy next to each other has been abolished! Now, synergy is achieved between them no matter where they are placed in your formation. Additionally, there has been a change in the player position change system. Instead of specific changes for a certain player position (for example, in FIFA 22, a player LW could only be changed to LF or LM), now any player can be changed to any position, but it is required that the player has played in that position previously! Otherwise, they will not provide synergy with the other players. You can also find out the positions that a player can play in and provide synergy without any problems through his card data in the game.

The Division Rivals, Squad Battles, and Draft competitions modes remain the same system as the previous version of the game with no changes made to them.

Career Mode has become stronger this year, as now you can play as real technical managers, which adds a wonderful touch that has also made a big difference. There are also monthly TV personalities like Ted Lasso and the Richmond team from the famous Ted Lasso series. Additionally, the transfer analyst not only advises you on the appropriate price to buy but also evaluates the deals you have made and determines whether they are successful or unsuccessful. He also praises you if you have made successful deals with the least possible expense. Overall, the mode has become more powerful, rich, and enjoyable.

Gameplay has seen a significant improvement in player movements and reactions due to HyperMotion technology, but the improvements did not stop there! The set-piece shooting system has also undergone a radical development and has become easier and more enjoyable, allowing you to determine exactly where the player will strike the ball—off the ground, from the right side with the instep, or from the left side with the back foot, all of which affect the shooting technique. Also, the player wall now behaves like in reality, allowing you to make a player lie down under the wall to block ground balls while the wall jumps to execute the set-pieces.

Shooting on goal has also been updated, so now when you press L1+R1, the camera zooms in slightly and time slows down, allowing you to aim precise shots for long-range shots away from the goal.

Graphics have not remained stagnant, with significant developments in player faces and increased details, but the apparent graphical development from the first moment is in the stadium pitches and their rich colors, which include several shades that vary from one stadium to another depending on the stadium lighting and the quality of the grass; this is a development that was not present in previous installments where you would always find similar pitches in all stadiums. Currently, the pitches have become realistic and dynamic, affected by player slips and movements on them just like in reality! Also, when you zoom in the camera, you will notice grass flying as players run and the grass affected by their movement on the field in general.

Conclusion – There is a famous saying by former footballer Gary Lineker, “Football is a simple game-22 men chase the ball for 90 minutes- and in the end, the Germans always win.” Likewise, FIFA the 23rd edition is a good, enjoyable, and fun game with lots of modes and improvements, but in the end, you’ll realize that it’s mostly the same game you’ve been playing in previous years.
