Earlier this month, the independent developer studio Nomada, behind the acclaimed game Gris, announced that they are not interested in developing a sequel to the game. They confirmed that the first game was released as a complete package and does not require a new installment.
This statement came from Roger Mendoza, the producer of the game Gris, in an interview with TheGamer. Mendoza explained that while the idea of developing a sequel is not completely ruled out, it should not be expected anytime soon. He jokingly said:
“Of course, we can’t say ‘never,’ but Gris 2 is not currently in our plans.”
He added:
“When we were working on Gris, we knew that we would not release additional content or a sequel. It is a complete experience, with a beginning and an end to its story, so I don’t think the second part will happen anytime soon.”
The platformer and adventure game Gris was released in 2018 on Nintendo Switch and PC platforms, achieving great success, leading to its release on other platforms such as PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and mobile. Its latest release was in 2022.
Instead of developing a new installment of the game Gris, the independent development studio Nomada is preparing to launch their new game titled Neva, which is set to be released on October 15th on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
