Players had mixed feelings about Sony’s release of the PS5 Pro for several reasons, with the most common being the price compared to the regular PS5, despite the promise of better performance and higher graphics quality.

Claims about the performance of the PS5 Pro were tested by Digital Foundry with The Last of Us Part 2, and the results were unexpected, with the analysis stating that the PS5 Pro and the new AI-based PSSR technology provide clearer resolution than the base PS5.

Furthermore, the PS5 Pro maintained a better frame rate while producing higher graphic quality compared to the PS5, and although these results are somewhat impressive, there are some caveats, as Digital Foundry points out that screen sizes and viewing distances will greatly impact the experience.

According to comments on the video posted by Digital Foundry, the player playing on a television at a distance of over six feet will have great difficulty noticing any improvement, and the graphic differences between the base device and the PS5 Pro can only be seen when zooming in, in other words, players using a wider screen will notice any changes in image quality compared to those using a TV.
