Epic Games has become the latest company to officially announce how it is dealing with the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Epic Games explained that their approach differs slightly from many other methods as they will cease trading with Russia but will still allow access to their products for the Russian people.
Since the Russian forces entered Ukraine, dozens of companies have announced various sanctions against Russia, while most of the video gaming world has taken a stand against the Russian invasion, the methods have differed.
Epic announced through their official Twitter account that they are moving towards companies like Ubisoft but taking a specific step that some believe could be very beneficial.
The Fortnite developer said they have “halted commerce with Russia” in their games in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
However, the company also stated that they will not take the additional step of completely cutting off the use of their products.
This means they are not cutting off access entirely for the same reasons that other communication tools remain online – the free world should keep all lines of dialogue open.
