EA has registered a new patent in which it aims to develop a “personal guidance system” to help players become professionals in its games. The patent discusses adding an automated guidance system for players that can replace traditional instructional tutorials.
The patent explains:
Based on user specifications and current skill identity, personalized guidelines can be developed to assist the user in progressing within a video game or improving their video game skills.
The legal document titled “Customized Video Game Guidance System” introduces a guidance system that uses advanced algorithms and artificial intelligence technology. This system will assist each player in addressing their specific weaknesses and provide assistance and suggestions tailored to each user to help them develop their skills.
Unlike basic instructional tutorials, the player guidance system can analyze the player’s gameplay style, strategies, and various gameplay features to help them adapt and develop their skills.
EA discusses an example with FC games, where players can benefit from a player-specific guidance system in defending and retaining the ball in the sideline area. The automated guidance system will provide strategies and tips to help players overcome this challenge, in simpler terms, this system will help players transition from amateurs to more professional players.
