The game Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has not been released yet, but it seems to have gained massive popularity to the extent that it caused PlayStation servers to crash.
The game is scheduled to be released on October 10th, while pre-loading for owners of the standard version will begin on the upcoming Tuesday, October 8th. However, owners of the special editions (Deluxe and Ultimate) can start pre-loading the game since Saturday, October 5th, 2024.
Although pre-loading so far is limited to owners of the special editions of Dragon Ball Sparking Zero, this was enough to create a lot of pressure on PlayStation servers, causing them to crash for some time as acknowledged by Sony.
Since the early hours of pre-loading for the Deluxe and Ultimate editions, the network has faced a huge influx of requests, indicating the high demand for pre-loading operations that started in a short time, causing intermittent network disruptions.
This influx only occurred with the special editions of the game, which usually have less demand than the standard edition that always sees higher sales. Therefore, if Sony is not well prepared for the upcoming Tuesday, we expect the PlayStation network to receive another shock after the start of pre-loading for the standard edition.
It is worth mentioning that the download file size for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero on PS5 and PS4 will be approximately 27 GB. The game will be available on next-generation platforms and PC starting from Thursday, October 10th.
