In late December 2023, Fntastic Studio released their highly anticipated game, The Day Before, which was a catastrophic launch by all measures. The game did not live up to the studio’s promises at all! Despite achieving the highest number of wishlisted games in Steam’s history, the studio did not hesitate to deceive and cheat the eager fans of this game. Instead of being an MMO survival game in a rich and massive open world, The Day Before turned out to be a survival game like all the other survival games in the market, even worse than all of them. The Day Before was not well-made in terms of mechanics and was full of technical problems to the point where it felt like a prototype version! Due to this failed launch, the studio shut down the game servers, removed it from the market, and announced the closure of the studio.
Return of Fntastic
Despite the studio’s closure, we were surprised yesterday by a new tweet from Fntastic announcing their return to game development, emphasizing that they have learned from their past mistakes and are ready for the next phase! Not only that, but the studio boldly announced their new game, Escape Factory, and requested crowdfunding for it!
Regaining trust will be tough, but we’re motivated to make more games if our Kickstarter succeeds. With its ‘all or nothing’ model, contributions will be refunded if we miss the target. We value your support, and all funds will go to development, not profit.

The funny thing here is that the goal of this campaign is to revive the studio through crowdfunding – the same audience that the studio deceived the first time. The more funding they receive, the more projects the studio will work on, including the game Escape Factory, which is categorized as a 4-8 player CO-OP game where players cooperate to escape from the factory.
On the Kickstarter page, you will find a complete plan for releasing the game. If the amount reaches $20,000 from the public, the game will be released on Steam with “the revival of Fntastic”. There is a plan for reaching support up to $700,000, at which point the studio claims that the game will be released on other platforms with new modes. Of course, if you decide to support the campaign, you will receive benefits, with the most peculiar being the $12,000 tier, where a donation of this amount will get you a special dinner with the studio owners… what an enticing offer!
