The development of the console version of Elite Dangerous has been canceled, meaning players on PlayStation and Xbox will not be able to play the latest expansion Elite Dangerous: Odyssey.
The decision comes after a long effort to support the game on the PC.
David Braben, CEO and co-founder of the franchise, wrote: “Over the past few months, we have been struggling with the best way forward, and with heavy hearts, we have decided to cancel all console development.”
“We need to be able to move forward in the game’s story, and to do that, we need to focus on one platform. Elite Dangerous will continue to use the console as it is now with important updates, but we will focus on new content updates on the PC in the post-Odyssey database.”
