It seems that we will finally get enhanced Remastered versions of the original God of War series according to the latest rumors that have begun to spread online through a source that has a good reputation for leaks in recent times.
The source of this information is the leaker Lunatic Ignus, who has emerged as a star through recent leaks about PlayStation announcements and State of Play events. He confirmed that he received information through his sources that Sony is currently working on a project for a God of War Remastered collection, preparing for its release next year in 2025.
According to the source, the collection will include 6 parts of the original series, consisting of 3 main parts and 3 spin-offs as follows:
- God of War
- God of War II
- God of War III
- God of War: Chains of Olympus
- God of War: Ghost of Sparta
- God of War: Ascension
The same source claims that this enhanced collection is being developed in collaboration with Nixxes studio and will be revealed in conjunction with the 20th anniversary of the series in March of next year, 2025.
What’s intriguing here is that Nixxes studio is the one carrying out this task, which may strongly imply that the enhanced collection will also be released on PC.
It is worth mentioning that Sony has previously re-released enhanced Remastered versions of the God of War series on PlayStation 3, including God of War, God of War II, God of War: Chains of Olympus, and God of War: Ghost of Sparta. While only the third part of the series was re-released with an enhanced version on PlayStation 4.
However, it seems that Sony now wants to bring together all 6 main parts in a single enhanced package on PlayStation 5. If these rumors are true, it will be a great addition to the game library for fans of the classic series, especially after the new direction taken by Santa Monica Studio in the recent parts that took the title to a whole new level.
We note that this information is still unofficial. Although the source is known for the accuracy of the information shared with the public, it is advisable to treat it with caution until an official confirmation is received from Sony.
