Study: League of Legends players are the smartest among all gamers

In a recent study involving over 1000 players, it was revealed that the game League of Legends has the smartest audience among gaming enthusiasts worldwide. The study, conducted by WhoBingo and a team of psychologists, included an intelligence test designed to rank players’ IQ levels – the results were very interesting.

The WhoBingo study indicates that League of Legends has the smartest players in the world with an average IQ of 120.4. In second place is the game Black Myth: Wukong, with an average player IQ of 119.8. Baldur’s Gate 3 comes in third with a player IQ average of 117.9, followed by Counter-Strike and Elden Ring in fourth and fifth place, respectively.

Battlefield 2042 players come next with an IQ average of 105.8, followed by Escape from Tarkov at 104.2 and Deadlock at 108.7. Genshin Impact players have an average IQ of 106.8.

Call of Duty ranks eighteenth, with an average IQ of 95.3 for Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 players. Following are FC 24 and Rocket League, with players in these games having an IQ of only 90!

One observation from this study is that the more complex a game is, the higher the average IQ of its players. If a game has competitive levels and more complex mechanics, it requires a stronger brain to play, and most importantly, to enjoy it. This may explain why popular sports and shooting games rank towards the bottom.
