8 Video Games Where You’ll Find Yourself as the Ultimate Leader – Part Two and Last

Talking about the final boss in Metal Gear Solid, Liquid Snake, is difficult because he is indeed the evil twin of Solid Snake and deserves his place on this list. But artistically, both of you are evil twins because you were both created as clones of Big Boss.

Furthermore, there is a hint that Solid Snake is the more evil of the two, as Psycho Mantis describes you during your encounter as the “real evil,” in addition to comments from some of your allies about Solid Snake’s enjoyment of war and killing.

To add more madness to our minds, being a clone with your fair share of dark secrets means that when you fight in the original Metal Gear game on NES against Outer Heaven and discover that Big Boss is its leader, it means that Big Boss sees you as the evil intruder who came to disrupt his plans as the game nears its end.

So, the next time you play as Solid Snake, remember that you are playing as a terrifying and evil clone, and don’t let any amazing skateboarding moves distract you from this fact.

2. F-Zero GX

Now we come to the intriguing case in the game F-Zero GX, which traditional game enthusiasts speak of in hushed tones as one of the best racing experiences ever put on a disc. When you witness the incredible speed and lightning-fast reactions of the top players in this game, it becomes hard to argue otherwise, as you must become one with your device if you want to survive just one lap on Expert level.

What makes this version intriguing is that while F-Zero X introduced us to the flipped clone concept in the character Blood Hawk, unlocked after overcoming all the challenges the game presents on the highest difficulty, in GX this shadow racer, or throne pretender, cannot be considered the final boss of the game.

I say this because the true final test in the story mode of this game is a one-on-one race with one of the game designers himself, where you must face the employee’s ghost and compete in a perfect race on a wall-less track, meaning you’ll savor a delicious cocktail of pain and humility for several days.

For someone out there, this is truly the ultimate leader battle, as he is the final boss, racing against the time he set himself… and he may fail miserably in the process.

1. Darkseed 2

The game Darkseed 1 and 2 seems like a strange mix, as if it’s the result of a love affair between H.R. Giger and the live motion capture technology used in Mortal Kombat, taking you on a journey to madness that will make you question many things, including your mental sanity.

Initially, it appears that Mike Dawson, the unlucky loser, is on a mission once again to stop a parallel dimension from invading his world, but things take a Twin Peaks-like turn in the final moments of the second part.

Here, somehow, Mike manages to defeat a giant monster using only his wits and his impeccably groomed mustache. Then he finds himself having a conversation with his friend Jack, who seems to desperately want to be like the Fonz to the extent that he likely has a tattoo of Henry Winkler’s face on his tongue.

In a surprising and well-orchestrated twist, Jack reveals that you and he are actually the same person, and that he is in fact Mike Dawson from the parallel world, but cooler and with the ability to transform into a bloodthirsty demon. As expected, demonic powers are more effective than sports jackets, leading to Mike’s death on the ground.

After stealing our identity, Jack (or the other Mike) escapes to the other world, preferring to live there instead of our world, leaving us with many questions about what exactly is happening, and why bother coming to our world only to choose to ultimately return to his own world.
